A Soul’s Journey is beyond skin deep, but our bodies are sacred, they are our temples.
The Sacred Power of Huna" page 113 reads "Aloha, the fifth principle of Huna, teaches us that Love nourishes and satisfies through the giving and receiving of it; in fact, both must happen in order for us to be able to engage it fully. And it is in this sharing of love that we find happiness."
It was the act of love of a bag of potato chips that taught me how to receive love. I refused help as much as I could from everyone in the hospital. If I could do it myself, I did. I lived in the hospital for 4 1/2 months and in that time, got to know the staff. After a conversation about a bag of chips I had in my room that was not what I was craving, the tech left and brought me a bag of chips that were the same that I had. I thanked her and declined her offer to receive the bag I wanted. When the lights went out, the nurse who I grew to know to be loving and kind, quietly opened my door and placed the bag of lays potato chips on the counter and quietly closed the door. She thought I was sleeping, but no one really sleeps in a hospital. It taught me- as much I feel alive in helping others…I was not allowing her to do the same. I needed to receive in order for it to be real.
